Local facilities

Here are a few walks and some facilities which you may enjoy and find useful during your stay at the Villa Madnis.

The village

Padul has a very historical 16th century heritage with notably the Santa Maria la Mayor Church; the Casa Grande, the name given to the Palace of the Counts of Padul ; the Source des Cinq Becs as well as the washhouse.
built in the 18th century, housing an interesting representation of Saint Sebastien.

Puntal Valley

On a hot summer ‘s day, a leisure complex which is just 5 minutes away offers a large swimming pool with diving boards, a golf course, shaded picnic areas, children’s games and a tennis court.

La restauration

Just a few steps from the villa are numerous bars offering traditional tapas served with your drinks. You will spend some very enjoyable and fun times around these small snacks which are eaten "on the hoof".
For those more conventional meals, you will find some charming restaurants which also offer a wide variety of take-away meals.

For those with a sweet tooth, the bakery will titillate your taste buds with its crusty bread and regional specialities, whilst the patisserie will surprise you with its original and rich production of gourmand tastes.

The markets

The Padul market, vibrant and colourful, is held every Friday morning. A covered market for fresh products (meat, fish, fruits and vegetables) opens its doors from Monday to Thursday morning.

Throughout the week, you will also find other markets, just as picturesque and exotic in the surrounding villages as well as the one in Grenada which is held every Sunday morning.

Other informations

In order to get to Grenada, there is a bus stop just 5 minutes away by foot where the regular bus service, which leaves every half an hour, will take you straight to the city centre.

For that vital non-food purchases, there is a supermarket a few minutes away from the villa by car.
